1| What Prospects Want: Cast The Vision
It’s not enough for you to show the presentation and explain the compensation plan. Your prospects want to know how far you want to take this, before they can decide to tag along with you.
Prospects do not join businesses or companies or products, they join people. What is your vision for your team? You have to define your vision and always state it clearly when prospecting for new team members. People love to identify with grand vision and you will get a higher response rate once you master how to communicate your vision both to your team and to your prospects.
Begin with the end in mind and sell your prospects on the possible outcome if they get started with you.
Have a vision for your business and for your team. It doesn’t always have to be a monetary goal. A colleague of mine has a team that has a goal to free 100 families into financial freedom within the next 12 months or so. That’s a grand vision that prospects will readily identify with. So tell your prospects clearly what you are going to do with this opportunity.
Joining the team of a leader who is working to put in 10,000 new reps in the next 12 months is more encouraging than signing up with someone who is struggling to make sales to cover his monthly autoship.
2| Leader’s Trait: Show Confidence
Your prospects can smell from a thousand miles if you are just out there testing if this business will work. You have to learn to exude confidence and show great posture when prospecting.
Nobody wants to join someone who is trying to figure out how to stand on their feet. This explains why the top earners get lots of people begging to join their team while a lot of the newbies struggle to get anyone to take them seriously. You need to practice and master how to prospect and present with confidence.
As long as you believe in the product and in the opportunity, there’s no reason for you not to have 100% confidence in what you are showing to them.
You are the sole owner of your business and you need to communicate that in your posture and confidence. They need to understand that you will do this with or without them and you are only giving them an opportunity to see and be a part of your organization before many others.
Tip: Instantly increase your posture by making your you are not slouching over when talking to your prospect in person. If you are on the phone, stand up and speak clearly while on your feet to gain more vocal power and increase your confidence perception.
