How to become all you want to be in life…continued

We all have dreams and aspirations. Some of us are bold enough to pursue our dreams and will leave nothing to chance – It’s just our decision to live life to the fullest. Some others are too weak or complacent and will live their whole lives short of what God designed them to be.

Where really do fate and destiny meet with faith and ambition?

Are you content with your present living or working condition? If not, what are you doing to improve it? Are you going by the same age-old methods and philosophies our older and passing generation employed, failed at and still passed on to us?

Can life actually be more fun than it is right now? Can it be more rewarding and less of the unbendable “chores” and stiff schedules in the prison of paid employment?

Do we actually have the power to change our destiny? Or to use a softer wording, can we control the way we live out our ‘destiny’?

How much of our future is actually in our hands? Does God sovereignly choose those who end up rich and those who MUST be poor and struggle through life surviving month to month on a meagre salary, to fulfil his divine mandate for humankind?

Some of those with closed mentalities might have their minds framed in this manner. You often hear them say “My life is determined by God’s divine will – Let HIS will be done in my life”.

And this is the crossroad.

Please understand my point. Some folks will take responsibility for their lives and do something about their condition, while some others will chicken out and leave it all to fate and God’s plan, hoping for a better tomorrow or a pay raise, a lottery win, or a better government – “God’s time is the best”. Not while you’re doing nothing and hoping for a miracle.

I believe we have absolute control over our lives. We may not have control over how we start off – choosing rich or broke parents or choosing to be beautiful or handsome, or extremely brilliant; but we do have absolute control over how we end up. I believe we determine our future and how it plays out. You can know a person’s tomorrow by looking at what he does today, just as we can trace our conditions today to events and DECISIONS we made in the past.

I’m doing my 1 year compulsory National Youth Service and I have been posted to a rural area much different from what your idea of life might be.  Though I do not have control over my posting [let’s rule out ‘working it’ or ‘long legs’ and all that], I have every control over how my service year ends. I can decide to whine and complain about my situation, or choose to do something about it and make the best of what I have.

I believe God is more creative than to create stereotyped humans and determine their ends. Where then will the function our ‘desire’ and ‘choice’ fall?

God created angels and humans as creatures of choice and free-will. That’s why some angels could decide to decamp to Satan’s team. As we have the liberty to choose whether or not we will worship and glorify God with our lifestyles, we also can work our ‘will’ into existence.

Gen 1:3 – And God said, let there be light.

He wanted something, he had a desire and he did something about it. He spoke his will into reality. So if we are made in the image and likeness of God [Gen 1:26] and the bible holds true, then we should also be able to translate ALL our desires into reality. We can do the same.

Wake up each morning and speak your will into reality. It will be shocking how magical life will appear when you have your desires come into reality just by speaking it.

This is the determining factor right here. Do you think what I just said is possible?

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right” – Henry Ford

Don’t join the bandwagon of those who whine and say life isn’t fair – “If life was fair, why would John be born with a silver spoon while I was born with a ‘wooden’ spoon?”

That’s a load of crap!! Just look around and hear stories of kids from wretched homes who turn out to be billionaires, and conversely, stories of rich kids who lose all their family.

I believe Life is fair and will give unto every man his reward in the exact proportion to the degree of his productive labour.

Proverbs 23:7 – As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

You can decide to think you were created to suffer and you’re just a character acting out your script in the divine play showing in the theatre of Heaven; or you can decide to look inwards and maximise the ‘talents’ and potentials God has placed within you and become a star on the face of the earth.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve chosen to do. I have discovered my life goals and I’ve put in place a financial plan that will set my financially free for life within the next 3 – 4 years. I’m not looking for the lazy lifestyle, but with financial worries out of the way, I can focus all my energy on the things that really matter to me – spending time with my loved ones and pursuing my real life goals of impacting the lives of millions of people.

It’s a shift in mentality. You will lose some friends when you choose to walk this path. No worries, you are better off without them because you will make new friends, the kind that will spur you on to greatness. Sceptics, cynics and fools can never amount to much.

Robert Kiyosaki put it this way in his best-selling book, Retire young Retire Rich, “Cynics and fools are twins on opposite sides of reality and possibility. A cynic’s reality does not let anything new in and a fool’s reality does not have the ability to keep foolish ideas out”.

Psalms 1 talks about a man who does not sit down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and mockers] gather. Do not sit down and relax on that cynical mentality criticising every new idea that comes across.

Find friends that affirm your positive resolutions.

Some people’s minds cannot accept the idea that they do not necessarily have to work ‘so hard’ to make a good living. This has been engrossed so deeply into some of us that reaping the rewards of smart work seems ‘unethical’ to some.

In this age, it has been proven time and time again that smart work pays off and even pays better. Some people will rather stick their heads in the expired cliché of “work hard, save some for retirement or find a good company and invest in its shares, and for the annoying ridiculous part, hope that the company will continue to grow and turn profits year in year out throughout its life, or their life. While this might work for a few, it is still a closed mind-set because you are placing your entire savings in one company or at least one industry. This is very unpredictable and all your life’s savings could crumble in one day. Y’thought ‘bout that yet?

Have you considered owning your own business and being the one to call the shots? How does that sound?

You want to be an engineer and work for a big oil company… Have you thought of starting your own company and building it up to compete against the giants?

These are just theoretical thought patterns I’m stating here, not to imply that everyone should quit their jobs and go start their own companies and no one have employees. Or that one shouldn’t work to get experience first; if that’s what you’re doing, then it’s still cool. But it’s all question of how expanded our mind-sets are.

Read wide and expand your mind-set and capacity. Once this is achieved, life becomes a strategy game and you the role player. For many people life is a race and they are the rats in the rat race of life, continuously blaming the rich and powerful ‘cats’ for riding on their heads… lol.

Your life is in your hands. Your life starts the day you decide to take responsibility for your life, your actions and inactions, and determine your future.

Make that decision today!

I leave you with a powerful quote from Buckminster Fuller

“The Best way to predict the future is to DESIGN it”
